Artist's Comments

I'm a big Metroid fan, and I wanted to do an art of the best Metroid (at least for me it is). It took me a month working on this piece, but it's finally finished. The sections that required more work were Samus, the Space Pirate and Kraid (damn lizard). It was drawn with pencil on bristol, and then colored on PhotoShop. The original work is 37x28cms. Most of the PS work is done with the brush.

This is a mixture of existing desing form Metroid games, but they have a personal touch. The more obvius is Samus herself. It's a mixture of all the Power Suits she has had in every Metroid title (including Original NES Metroid and Fusion), and also added some features of my own. The Chozo and Space Pirates are desings from the Prime series, while Kraid is a mixture of the one in Zero Mission and the one in Super Metroid.

Wow, that's just awesome.

The detail is incredible. I particularly like the little details, like Kraid's scales, Ridley's wings, and the Space Pirate. Everything is vibrant, and it all looks great.
